About
I'm passionate about making risk management clearer and fairer for everyone. Through my work at CatX and now Catamaran, I build technology that helps the insurance and investment worlds understand complex risks in simple terms.
Our goal is practical: when everyone sees risk the same way, we can spread it efficiently across the economy, making communities more resilient to disasters.
CatX has been widely featured in publications including TechCrunch, The Insurer, Intelligent Insurer, Reinsurance News, and others.
Over the past twelve months, CatX has listed more than $500 million in opportunities and built a network of 30+ funds with over $500 billion in total assets under management.
With Catamaran we are combining AI with structured data, to help capital flow to where it's needed most. This isn't just about software—it's about creating a stronger safety net for businesses and communities when catastrophes happen. This work matters because better risk decisions mean faster recoveries, more protection, and ultimately a more resilient economy that benefits everyone.
Previously, Benedict was a strategy consultant at Baringa Partners, specializing in (re)insurance and asset management. He holds an MA in Chinese Studies from the University of Oxford.
